Abdaramani Niang

2022 Fellow from Senegal

Abdaramani Niang is a farmer with more than four years of experience transforming and promoting local agricultural products in Senegal. Currently, Abdaramani is director and general manager at Hayyo Foods, an agrofood company he founded in 2019. There, he works on the processing and marketing of local milk in the Senegal River valley through the Eco?Lait project. At Hayyo Foods, he unites and forges partnerships with milk producers. As a manager, he oversees activities related to the collection, processing, and marketing of dairy products. Abdaramani is also president of a student organization and an active member of the steering committee of an association that works to preserve and protect the environment in Ferlo, Senegal. Abdaramani holds a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences with a concentration in agrofood technologies. He is grateful for the opportunity to gain more experience and practical and transferable knowledge through the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. After completing the Fellowship, Abdaramani plans to apply and adapt the skills he acquired with an eco-responsible approach when he returns to Senegal. He hopes to contribute to the sustainable development of his community by creating more jobs and income and by inspiring future generations.
