Bongekile Matsenjwa

2021 Fellow from Eswatini

Bongekile Judith Matsenjwa is director of WomEng (Women in Engineering) Eswatini, a non-profit organization that works to raise the next generation of professional women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). WomEng Eswatini has educated more than 1,000 high school girls on opportunities in STEM and has empowered more than 40 female STEM professionals. Bongekile also writes for Eswatini's national newspaper to educate the public about the different STEM programs. Bongekile has a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and a master's degree in Engineering Management from the University of Pretoria. She has a background working in chemical engineering for manufacturing organizations, and has experience in engineering consulting. On completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Bongekile hopes to help organizations improve operational efficiencies and empower people to reach their full potential.
