Bright Kwaku Dey

2015 Fellow from Ghana

Bright Dey has over 16 years of experience in the education and community development fields, in addition to a rich background in music and information technology. Currently, Bright has taken a new role as the Programme Coordinator for Partnerships and Affiliations at the Ghana Education Service Headquarters in Accra. Prior to this position, he served 13 years as the Head of Planning and ICT at the Volta Regional Education Directorate in Ghana. In addition, he is a national project officer and a trainer for the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP), and the Community Participation for Sustainable Schools (COMPASS) project, which are sponsored by the World Bank and Japan International Cooperation Agency, respectively. He volunteered his experience in educational policy-making serving on the technical committees that developed the Early Childhood Education policy and the Early Childhood Care and Development policy for Ghana. Bright is working toward a M.Ed in Educational Administration and Management at ITECPD of the University of Education, Winneba. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Art and Technology, and he has attended several advanced-level professional trainings in and outside of Ghana. He has been recognized as an UNLEASH Global Top Talent for the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is driven to promote high-quality education for all children to guarantee them a better future and contribute to Ghana’s development. He credits the Mandela Washington Fellowship with providing him public management skills, leadership training, and professional coaching.
