Claire Sambou has over six years of experience in community development, youth leadership, and social change. Through her work at OAFRESS, a francophone civil society platform, she advocates for a strengthened healthcare system and promotes vaccination efforts in over 18 African countries. Committed to bringing lasting social change to Africa, Claire works as a social entrepreneurship program manager to strengthen and scale up the impact of youth-led social ventures in over 25 francophone African countries. She is a skilled program manager and holds a master's degree in International Economics from the University of Pau and Adour, France. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Claire will continue to manage OAFRESS where she hopes to expand its capacity to structure and represent the civil society voice in francophone Africa, as well as advocate for healthcare reform and increased vaccination rates.
