Ejiro Sharon Okotie

2015 Fellow from Nigeria

Ejiro Okotie advocates for women's rights and particularly for those with disabilities. With four years' experience in the area of sexual and reproductive health she advocates for the inclusion of persons with disabilities particularly women and girls in S&RH policies and programs. Standing against all forms of discrimination and social exclusion, Ejiro founded the Hope Inspired Foundation through which she gives people a voice through capacity-building, information, and independent living. She volunteers to train young girls in schools on HIV/AIDS and cancer, and to developing life-skills to make informed decisions, maximize their potential, and provide a safe space for them to share experiences and build informed alliances. Ejiro holds a Master's degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Lagos. Upon completion of the Fellowship, she plans to continue her work in SRH, further her course to improve the capacity of youths and advocacy influence policies affecting them.
