Elizabeth Kasujja is a certified public health specialist with almost 10 years of experience in the Ugandan health sector. Currently, Elizabeth is chief executive officer and cofounder of Clear Yo Mind, an initiative headquartered in Uganda that raises awareness of mental health, contributes to eradication of stigma, and uses technology to connect people dealing with mental health issues to professional help. She also is a volunteer with Malaika Mentors, where she provides leadership development to the next generation in high schools across Uganda. Elizabeth holds a master's degree in International Business, a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, and a diploma in Psychology. She is passionate about technology and the power it has to transform the mental health sector, and she wants to set up Uganda’s first national mental health hotline. Elizabeth credits the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders with teaching her the principles of servant leadership, which has influenced her career and personal goals and decision making since she completed the Fellowship in 2017. Elizabeth received the Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2018 and was recognized by President Barack Obama for her role promoting conversations surrounding mental health as part of the 2019 Obama Leaders for Africa program.
