Gina Amedeka

2022 Fellow from Ghana

Gina Amedeka is a communications consultant and development enthusiast with more than seven years' experience in corporate communications and social work. Currently, Gina works as research assistant to the deputy minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the member of parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem at the Parliament House of Ghana, focusing on research, policy analysis, and engagement. She is the founder of MCP Services Ghana. The business provides consulting services to companies both at home and abroad, especially foreign companies seeking to invest in the Ghanaian economy. Gina is passionate about empowering women and has founded Almah Africa, an organization that advocates for girls' education and women's empowerment across Africa. Almah Africa has collaborated with organizations in other West African countries such as Benin, Cameroon, Côte d?Ivoire, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone to address critical issues affecting women such as gender-based violence and the culture of rape. Gina has a master's degree in Communications and a bachelor's degree in Development Management. She is an Alumna of the Young African Leaders Initiative, West Africa. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Gina hopes to contribute to policies that empower women and foster girl children's education.
