Hastings Golosi

2021 Fellow from Malawi

Hastings HaGo Golosi is a self-made entrepreneur with seven years of experience in documentary filmmaking and youth development. He is the co-founder and creative director of HD Plus Creations, a media and advertising agency that inspires social change through films. Hastings has produced short films and documentaries about poverty reduction among youth, girl empowerment, entrepreneurship, climate change, agriculture, and the environment. A business development specialist, he also founded ENACT, an organization that mentors young people in Malawi and develops their business and entrepreneurship skills. Hastings was nominated as Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the 2020 Africa Youth Awards, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the Malawi Polytechnic. As a young entrepreneur, his mission is to make the world a better place for young people, and believes in using entrepreneurial values and approaches to solve major sustainability problems. He has so far helped more than 300 youth implement their business ideas. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Hastings plans to continue using films to enhance social change in Malawi and to start a film hub to help young filmmakers become entrepreneurs.
