Joyce Wambui Kamande

2019 Fellow from Kenya

Joyce Kamande has over four years of experience promoting the economic empowerment of rural farmers and young people in Kenya. Joyce is a co-founder and the head of operations of Safi Organics Limited, a company that that delivers organic fertilizer to farmers. She also volunteers at local high schools in her community to educate young boys about the importance of speaking out and building self-confidence. Joyce is currently completing her master's degree in Procurement and Logistics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She is passionate about empowering farmers and young people in rural areas through sustainable agricultural practices. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Joyce plans to continue to support rural community empowerment programs, and advocate for the rights of young boys.
