2016 Fellow from South Africa

Juanitill Pettus has almost 10 years’ experience working with young people in South Africa. She is passionate about making the world more equal, a goal she has pursued in the areas of youth employment, education, and leadership development. She has worked as a facilitator, coach, mentor, and strategist. Her current focus is on program design, helping organizations develop interventions that maximize results and ultimately enable more young people to reach their potential. Her latest project has been leading the creation of a fellowship focused on building the capacity of young teachers to become change agents in the education sector. As a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow, she gained increased capacity to think critically about the challenges faced in the development sector, and confidence in her ability to make meaningful contributions to advancing global goals.
