Kakule Musambaghani

2021 Fellow from Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

Veridique Musambaghani Kakule is engaged in tourism through Kwafrika Travel, a company he co-founded. Veridique uses an inclusive approach to tourism as he trains youth as tour guides, drivers, and chefs, and then invests in community development projects on education, water, sanitation, and hygiene. He believes that the Democratic Republic of the Congo could eradicate poverty and hunger by leveraging its wildlife and nature. He is also a co-founder of Guk Gie, a startup that champions nature conservation, tourism promotion, and environmental protection through education in primary schools. Veridique holds a master's degree in Business Administration and is passionate about working to find sustainable solutions to Africa's problems. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Veridique plans to expand his safari business and to work with other Fellows to inspire youth to become change agents.
