Katumi Mohammed Oboirien is the Principal Partner of Al-Naseerah Chambers and founder of the Al-Naseerah Legal Clinic. She holds a law degree from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Master's in Business and Commercial Law from Bayero University, Kano. She has seven years' experience carrying out legal pro-bono services. She is a Pro-bono lawyer for PRAWA (Prisoners' Rehabilitation and Welfare Action) and Legal Aids Council of Nigeria (LACON), Kano. Katumi is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Kano and the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kano. Katumi is very passionate about helping women and children, especially divorced women. She organizes vocational training and educational outreach activities in her community to create awareness for rape. Katumi plans to continue to provide leadership roles in advocating for favorable policies and implementation of existing laws as it affects women and children that are faced with torture, divorce, and rape.
