Landa Thandekile Mabenge

Landa Mabenge has more than five years of experience in gender diversity education and awareness. Currently, Landa is managing director at Landa Mabenge Consulting, focusing on creating awareness about transgender and gender-diverse identities. His consultancy works with organizations in the private, public, and higher education sectors to develop and implement gender diversity policies. Landa holds a master's degree (cum laude) in Sociology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Health. He is committed to intersectional trans scholarship and is determined to contribute to research and policy creation to ensure equitable access to public health facilities and resources for trans and gender-diverse persons. He credits the Fellowship with allowing him to expand his vision, which is tied to his passion and purpose. After the Fellowship, Landa returned to South Africa and penned his debut memoir, Becoming Him, which is now a resource in many institutions of higher learning.
