Timi Olagunju is consultant in policy, law, and innovation at Groundswell Consulting, a policy, research, and legal consulting firm in Nigeria. He has received several awards for his work, including one from the Ooni of Ife and Lead City University. Timi promotes policies and programs that amplify citizens’ civic and democratic voices. He cofounded Youths in Motion, a movement operating in Nigeria, Liberia, and New York that provides institutional opportunities to young people across Africa and in the diaspora. A signature program, Democracy in Action, allows young leaders to intern and closely interact with state parliamentarians. Timi holds a law degree from the University of Ibadan and a master’s degree in Public Policy and Research from the University of Lagos. He also attended executive leadership and policy training at the University of Virginia and the College of William and Mary. A 2015 Mandela Washington Fellow, Timi has trained more than 45,000 youths across Africa on ethical leadership, innovation, policy analytics, and open governance. He has a keen passion for leveraging technology and innovation to accelerate human development. He credits the Fellowship with exposing him to technology that he uses to influence policy and with enhancing his professional network.
