Tom has nine years of recent international development experience supporting employment for persons with disabilities. Currently, he is a certified employment specialist at the New York State Advocacy and Resource Center. Tom completed a US army and civilian career in medical services and served as a volunteer in the US Peace Corps in both Botswana and South Africa. He is an active boy scout leader and a member of Rotary International. Tom is on the Board of Directors for the North Country Center for Independent Living. He has a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Logistics Management. He is currently working on his master’s degree in Disability Studies. In 2019, Tom traveled to Botswana as part of the Mandela Washington Fellowship Reciprocal Exchange to help a non-profit organization develop a supported employment program for persons with disabilities. This experience has positively impacted his work, increasing his capacity to promote opportunities for persons of all abilities.
