Much Ado About Mangoes
In Kenya, roughly 50% of all mangoes don’t meet the quality standard for export, resulting in food waste and wasted effort from farmers. After his Fellowship, 2014 Mandela Washington Fellow Didas Mzirai launched Mucho Mangoes, a social business that empowers rural farmers to improve production quality and access ready markets. In December, Mucho Mangoes won the Kenya SME of the Year award from the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
