Voices of Exchange is a podcast by the Office of Alumni Affairs in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs that features the voices of alumni of U.S. government exchange programs, cultural and sports envoys, exchange visitors, and more.

On this episode, Reciprocal Exchange Participant Gail Prensky, also a U.S. arts envoy exchange alumna and documentary filmmaker, speaks about her work shedding light on the plight of artists living under continued oppression. Gail and her team are currently working with 2018 Fellowship Alumni Jok Abraham Thon and Lupai Samuel Kenyi Stephen to shift the focus from “bullets to books” in South Sudan.
