Youth-led solutions during COVID-19: Harnessing social media
Young people around the world are using social media to address issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. 2015 Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumnus Alieu Jallow’s organization Startup Incubator helped launch the #AfricavsVIRUS Ideathon social media campaign, where over 25,000 participants submitted ideas to address COVID-19 issues. Startup Incubator is a Gambia-based organization for young entrepreneurs that has shifted its focus to deploy social media to develop youth entrepreneurship ideas during the COVID-19 pandemic.
