2023 Fellow from Guinea

Amadu Ali Nabe has more than five years of experience in business development and management of startups. Currently, he is business development consultant at SenEngineering International SA, an engineering consultancy firm focused on water and sanitation. Amadu Ali focuses on developing the water and sanitation industry through strategic partnerships and technology transfer. He has previously worked in startup research and, during that period, helped found two student-led startups: Floatmeal (agrotech) and Yugen (educational technology) at Hokkaido University. Amadu Ali holds a master's degree in Economics from Hokkaido University in Japan and a diploma in Innovation Management from Nitobe College. As part of his work, he is passionate about removing the issue of open defecation and believes that a person's dignity is related to sanitation and toilets. Toilets are an important infrastructure tool that will help Senegal achieve the Sustainable Development Goal on clean water and sanitation. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Amadu Ali plans to create safe and secured access to sanitation facilities in the Francophonie region of West Africa, especially Guinea, Senegal, and Mali.
