Clarah Kimtai

2023 Fellow from Kenya

Clarah Kimtai is an experienced operations manager and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt practitioner seasoned in customer success, change management, and operational efficiency. She is currently working in the healthcare sector. She holds a master's degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Nairobi. Clarah believes that everyone has a right to access affordable health, a belief that led her to her position at the Rural Private Hospitals Association (RUPHA). She uses her operations expertise to enable RUPHA to understand its stakeholders' needs and expectations and to develop processes to meet those needs. Her work has improved rural Kenyans' access to affordable care that meets or exceeds industry standards and has also helped keep rural private hospitals in business. Through the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Clarah hopes to explore new areas within her field and learn about related fields or industries in ways that will broaden her perspective and enhance her skills.
