Samora Kibagendi is a filmmaker, technology entrepreneur, and social media guru with almost a decade of experience in the industry. With more than 15 movies produced, a community TV channel, and a YouTube channel, Samora has a strong presence in his community and he is using that not only to entertain but also to educate, inform, and comment on various issues in the community. Currently, Samora's venture, Ndiziflix, is transforming how filmmakers in Kenya distribute movies. The platform seeks to offer audiences the best in local films and drama series by merging technologies like WhatsApp API and M-Pesa API to help content creators reach their fans easily and conveniently. This solution creates job opportunities for actors and filmmakers in rural areas where jobs are hard to come by. In addition, Samora's Ndiziflix Studios provides equipment and capacity building for content creators in the Kisii and Nyamira counties. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Samora plans to continue to use his various platforms to effect meaningful change in his community.
