Ahmed Mohamed Afi

Ahmed M. Afi has over ten years of experience in the humanitarian field, focusing on community resilience programs. Ahmed is the Founder and Program Manager of Gedo Women Development Organization (GEWDO), a local NGO operating in Somalia. He focuses on the capacity building of women and youth, education, delivery of nutrition and food security projects to poor families, and transforming the mindset of the dependence of the communities on external support. Ahmed holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from SIMAD University in Mogadishu. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Ahmed plans to continue his efforts towards building community support programs with a focus on capacity building and education.
