Ame Nadege Afoutou

2015 Fellow from Togo

Nadege Afoutou has ten years' experience in building community and empowerment, especially leadership and civic engagement. She is the current chair at Education, Citizenship and Change in Togo, an organization aimed at promoting civic engagement where she focuses on planning, designing, and carrying out projects centered on community service, democracy, promotion of accountability and tolerance, female leadership in technology, and children's education. Nadege administrates her civic blog at www.e2ctogo.org and is a member of the Youth Council. She has volunteering experience with many organizations including the American Corner of the University of Lome, the Youth House, and Friends of the Earth Togo (as community manager and language assistant). She holds a Peace Online specialized training certificate in Human Rights and Gender Awareness from the Kofi Annan Peacekeeping training center. She plans to create the Centre for Civic Leadership and Citizens' Participation in Lome, Togo.
