Amina Abubakar

2021 Fellow from Nigeria

Amina Ahmed Abubakar has more than four years of experience as an education activist providing support for underprivileged children. She serves as the coordinator for FlexiSAF Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on providing access to education for out-of-school children. Amina specializes in designing alternative education programs necessary for children to thrive that are tailored to each child's circumstances. She believes that every child has a unique potential to shine. Amina is planning on pursuing a master's degree in Educational Psychology to deepen her understanding of how to help children thrive. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Amina plans to scale up her work of turning those who are underserved into outliers while building a team of highly skilled volunteers.
