Anne Mootian has more than 12 years’ experience in community development. Currently, Anne is chief executive officer of AfyAfrika, where she provides coordination and oversight of efforts to end female genital mutilation (FGM) activities in Narok, Kenya. Her job involves working at the grassroots level to identify evidence of FGM practice and promote stories of social change. Anne holds a master’s degree in Human Ecology. She is committed to working for the community, especially for minority groups, which are often left behind. Anne credits the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, which she received in 2019, with giving her the knowledge and skills to develop bankable proposals and coordinate community activities.
