Brenda Katwesigye

2016 Fellow from Uganda

Brenda Katwesigye has over five years' combined experience in software development, systems analysis, project management, IT risk, and assurance and internal controls review. Currently, Brenda is the co-founder of InstaHealth, a company in Uganda that builds web and mobile applications to improve healthcare delivery in the country. Their flagship product, the InstaHealth mobile application has enabled more than 1,000 Ugandans in rural areas to obtain quick access to doctors, ambulances, and health centers via basic mobile phones. Brenda is also a business analyst at Deloitte in Uganda where she performs assignments around IT audit, governance, and assurance. She has served clients both in Uganda and Kenya. Brenda holds a bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering from Makerere University. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she plans to continue her work with InstaHealth and focus on growing it further to create impact in more locations within Uganda, South Sudan, and Nigeria.
