Daniela Simão has more than 14 years of experience in the financial industry. Currently, Daniela is a member of the audit committee of the National Bank of Angola, where she assists the board in continuing efficient and effective internal control, financial accountability, and governance. Previously, as capital market regulator, she collaborated on a pioneering project to list public companies on the Luanda stock exchange. Daniela holds a master's degree in Accounting, Tax, and Corporate Finance from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management and a bachelor's degree in Management. She is also committed to the start-up ecosystem, providing mentor sessions at Founder Institute Luanda related to start-up governance and funding. In 2019, she collaborated on a book, Fintech and Corporate Finance: The African Context, which focuses on the African financial technology industry. Daniela strives to be a game-changing female leader in the financial industry and works to find solutions to add value to her society. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Daniela plans to implement the lessons she learned and leverage her professional network across Africa.
