David Mono Henry Danga

2019 Fellow from South Sudan

David Mono Danga is a South Sudanese investigative journalist with six years' experience in broadcast and print media. Danga is currently in charge of the Investigative and Sports Desk at The Juba Monitor Newspaper, where he leads the coverage of human rights issues affecting the vulnerable, marginalized and disadvantaged groups. He previously worked as a communications specialist with the Foundation for Democracy and Accountable Governance, a civil society organization where he supported community development projects and civic engagement with civil society organizations. Danga holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism, with a major in Investigative Journalism and is driven by the desire to fight for the rights of the minority. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Danga intends to create a non-profit media organization and set up a student journalism club at The University of Juba. He intends to build the capacity of journalists in his country and to increase the fight against bad governance to promote democracy.
