2016 Fellow from Chad

Koumtebaye Elysée has over five years of experience in pharmacy management and administration. He earned a master's degree in Pharmacology from the school of pharmacy at the China Pharmaceutical University, and a bachelor's degree in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Science at the Graduate Institute of Science and Technology of Abeche, Chad. He previously worked as a pharmacist at International Rescue committee (IRC). Currently, Elysée is managing director of the Regional Pharmacy Supply Chain of Kanem, one of the institutions of the Chadian Ministry of Public Health in Western Chad, where he mainly works to facilitate access for rural communities to essential medicines. Elysée is interested in business and entrepreneurship. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he plans to run a pharmaceutical company that can provide better access to essential medicines and affordable health care to the low- and middle-income communities in his country.
