Tabitha Shikuku has over 10 years of experience within the private sector. Currently, Tabitha is an Assistant Manager in Resource Development and External Affairs for the Aga Khan Academy, a development institution based in Mombasa. She focuses on managing and developing a network of sustainable volunteers and individual fundraisers, strategic planning and tactical execution, and leadership development and corporate social responsibility implementations. Tabitha is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of East, Central and Southern African Federation of Accountants and International Federation of Accountants (ICPAK) and is studying for her Bachelor's degree in Business Management, majoring in Finance and Banking from Moi University, Mombasa. Tabitha promotes community development by visiting local schools and distributing clothes and other resources to students. She also assists in a talent identification program which aims to identify disadvantaged students with leadership potential to give them the opportunity for better education. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Tabitha plans to use her acquired skills to continue advocating for education and creating awareness about opportunities and socioeconomic activities with the vision of encouraging and enlightening marginalized and underprivileged communities.
