Glory Chinenye Oguegbu

2015 Fellow from Nigeria

Glory Oguegbu has more than six years’ experience in renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and promotion of economic growth through job creation and education. Glory is executive director at the Glow Initiative for Economic Empowerment and founder of the Renewable Energy Technology Training Institute (RETTI). RETTI trains and mentors women and youth so that they can work in the renewable energy industry or become entrepreneur providers of clean electricity. Glory holds a bachelor's degree in Geography and Planning and is a graduate of Lagos Business School. She is a certified associate in project management (Project Management Institute), a trained solar professional (Energy One Africa), and a trained mentor (U.S. Embassy Mentorship Training for Women). She is committed to ensuring that all Nigerians have access to electricity and clean energy and to empowering women and youth. A 2015 Mandela Washington Fellow, Glory credits the Fellowship with helping her connect with potential collaborators, with allowing her to participate in an internship in Ghana that led to her first book on climate change, and with enabling her participation as a keynote speaker at an energy event in the United States.
