Harricannies Raymond Porto Kaima

Raymond Kaima is a human rights activist with over eight years’ experience in activism targeting land rights, rights to education, and health for marginalized and vulnerable groups, particularly women and children in rural communities. With a bachelor’s degree in Law, Raymond is currently working as a legal assistant for Wildlife Crime Prevention, a wildlife and conservation organization where he renders legal and expert opinions and advice to several project partners. He also continues his activism by volunteering his time and personal resources with grassroots organizations involved in empowering marginalized communities. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Raymond intends to use the knowledge, skills, and networks he will establish to strengthen community participation and empowerment initiatives to respond to human rights-based approaches, especially in the education and health sectors.
