Jholerina Timbo

2018 Fellow from Namibia

Jholerina Brinnette Timbo has over fourteen years of experience working in the LGBTI movement. She is a transgender rights activist who is currently the founder and director of Wings to Transcend Namibia. She leads initiatives that facilitate dialogue, promote law reform, drive intersectionality, and advocate for the inclusion of transgender and gender diverse people. Jholerina is a professional chef and a YALI alumna. She is driven by her commitment to social justice, hoping to see an equal, liberated, inclusive, and tolerant society. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Jholerina plans to continue her advocacy for the rights and inclusion of transgender and gender diverse people.
