Jonathan Mickaël Andréas

2023 Fellow from Madagascar

Jonathan Mickaël Andréas has more than five years of experience in climate change policy implementation, project management, and climate negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change process. Currently, Jonathan is a division chief at the National Office of Climate Change and REDD+ of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, where he focuses on adaptation and climate resilience. In addition, he is a member of the Rotaract Club Antananarivo Faneva, and he holds a master's degree in Business Law. Jonathan is committed to public service, especially climate action; more specifically, he focuses on increasing the resilience of local communities to climate risks while mobilizing various stakeholders, such as the private sector. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Jonathan plans to work toward the effective implementation of environmental and climate policies in Madagascar.
