Joseph Mpango has over three years experience as a Foreign Service Officer, specifically handling matters of bilateral and multilateral economic and trade relations; advising Government on international economic cooperation, regional integration, and diaspora engagement. He is an active member of Lions Clubs International (Lions Club of Capital City), a charitable organization that supports health care (particularly eye sight), environment, education and youth initiatives, and also has some human rights advocacy experience from previous work with the Centre for Legal Assistance (CELA). Joseph is currently setting up a consultancy service in public management. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science (Honors), with a focus in Social Work and Political Leadership, from the Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA). He is driven by a passion for public service and socioeconomic development. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Joseph wants to continue to help articulate and orient public policy, and community driven projects and investments, promoting sustainable livelihoods, by, among others, mobilizing and supporting programs, and policy addressing socio-economic and trade gaps.
