Kolawole Temitope Olaniyi

2017 Fellow from Nigeria

Kolawole Olaniyi is a senior correspondent with Punch Nigeria Limited. In this position, he edits, writes opinion pieces, and periodically contributes to The Punch's editorials. Kolawole's writings, as an electronic and electrical engineering graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife, have chiefly centered on decarbonization, climate change, and energy transition. He credits the Mandela Washington Fellowship with allowing him to hone his research skills, and allowing him to co-write a book chapter with Dr. Karen Maguire, whom he met during his six-week professional training at Oklahoma State University. Their chapter, "Nigerian Electricity Market: Is the Future Bright?" is chapter five of the book "Energy Policy: Perspectives, Challenges, and Future Directions," which was published by Nova Science Publishers in Hauppauge, USA.
