2022 Fellow from Nigeria

Naima Idris Usman has more than three years of experience in the medical field. Currently, Naima is a medical doctor and founder of Girls Talk Series, an initiative that focuses on population and reproductive health by educating women on personal hygiene and reproduction. She championed a COVID-19 team to spread awareness about the virus in northern Nigeria. Naima holds a bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery and is pursuing a master's degree in Population and Reproductive Health. She is committed to equipping women of reproductive age with medical knowledge to enable them to have control over their health. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Naima aspires to promote quality education and healthcare equity, especially for women and girls in Africa.
