Obinna Orjingene

2018 Fellow from Nigeria

Obinna Orjingene has more than five years of professional experience in public health. Currently, Obinna is maternal–newborn child health and nutrition consultant at the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), where he supports efforts to strengthen the Nigerian health system. He also helps the Nigerian government design health programs and ensures their alignment with UNICEF's Strategic Plans and Country Program; with regional strategies; and with national priorities, plans, and competencies. He volunteers with the 700 Club and the Nigeria Red Cross Society. Obinna is a postgraduate student of Public Health at the University of Essex, United Kingdom. A 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow, Obinna attributes his global professional network and strategic partnerships to the Fellowship, which also enhanced his ability to provide innovative solutions to emerging health challenges.
