Refiloe Semethe

2023 Fellow from Lesotho

Refiloe Semethe has more than seven years of experience in civic engagement. Currently, Refiloe is country project manager at the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, focusing on girl-led climate change education, community action, and climate change advocacy. Her works focus primarily on girls' and young women's participation in climate change issues. She has also worked on several community projects focusing on natural resource management, ecosystem restoration, and adaptation to climate change. Refiloe holds a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences. She is committed to making a difference in her community and working with others to improve the lives of the community's most vulnerable members. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Refiloe plans to mentor youth in climate change education and advocacy, focusing on increasing women's participation in climate issues.
