2021 Fellow from Sudan

Samia Faisal Said is an energy engineer with more than four years of experience. She is currently the chief research and development officer at Clean Energy 4 Africa, where she focuses on promoting renewable energy in Africa. She also leads several civic associations advocating for gender equality and democratic transition in Sudan. Samia holds a bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Sudan University of Science and Technology. She believes that energy drives the universe and that to achieve socioeconomic stability, countries must manage their energy sector wisely. On completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Samia plans to establish an energy consulting firm in Sudan and to increase the scope of her work with Clean Energy 4 Africa.
