Sophia Wabosha Otieno has more than five years' experience running charity projects with a focus on the underprivileged and underrepresented in the community. Sophia is co-founder of Give for Good Kenya (G4GKe), a community-based organization that betters the quality of lives of highly vulnerable families by ensuring access to high-quality education, gender equality, and reduced inequalities. Through G4GKe, Sophia has spearheaded projects that have mentored more than 150 girls and she has assisted with the launch of the first community library in a marginalized area off the coast of Kenya. The library serves more than 20 students daily. In addition, G4GKe has directly helped 300 people through food and sanitary product drives. Sophia, who has a background in film and media, is continuing her studies for certification in Project Management. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, she plans to launch a digital campaign aimed at addressing digital literacy and providing entrepreneurship and alternative livelihoods training for marginalized young women.
