Stephan Kamati Mungongi

2018 Fellow from Namibia

Mungongi Stephan is a Namibian entrepreneur who owns the Mungongi Group, an umbrella of companies that trade in the travel and tourism, construction, real estate, catering and food supplies, and agriculture sectors. Stephan is a motivational speaker, mentor, and a recognized humanitarian and philanthropist who has recently made national headlines in the Namibian media for sponsoring a soccer and netball program. The program focuses on community empowerment and keeping youth away from alcohol and substance abuse. Stephan is the winner of the Michelle McLean Children Trust Award of Excellence, given by Miss Namibia 1991 and Miss Universe 1992, Michelle McLean, for his excellent work in school, demonstrating outstanding leadership and community empowerment. His key values in life are honesty, handwork, and diligence. Stephan is driven to make meaningful contributions to his community and country, helping African children achieve their dreams. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Stephan aims to work closely with the Namibian government to confront hunger and starvation through maize meal production and distribution to help with drought relief.
