Tawo Msowoya is a feminist and women's rights advocate. Currently, she serves as program manager for Tingathe. She is also national coordinator of Pepeta Africa, a movement of young feminist activists in the Southern African Development Community region with an agenda centered on the principles of nurturing sisterhood, building solidarity, and fighting patriarchal structures that limit girls' and women's ability to enjoy unfettered access to their sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Tawo's work with Pepeta has involved regional SRHR movement-building efforts to connect young women and build a feminist movement in southern Africa. Tawo holds a bachelor's degree in the Social Sciences from the University of Malawi. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Tawo plans to use the knowledge and skills she acquired to create and strengthen platforms for young women's advocacy and representation in literature.
