Thierno Souleymane Niang

2021 Fellow from Senegal

Thierno Souleymane Diop Niang is a jurist, author, sustainable goal practitioner, foreign policy specialist, and social entrepreneur. Thierno co-founded Rev?evolution, Senegal's first youth summit on leadership and social entrepreneurship that is run and funded by youth. He also facilitated the Youth Forum on Employment, Training, and Inclusion: A Knowledge-Sharing Event for Sub-Saharan Africa, which was organized by the World Bank Office in Senegal. He was also selected to participate in the African Union's iDOVE (Interfaith Dialogue on Violent Extremism). Thierno currently collaborates with Legs Africa, a think tank advocating for civic issues. His research is related to the Sahel crisis and ways to empower youth for a better future. A published author of books and essays, Thierno presented his third book, Coin Si Dense, at the Paris book fair, along with the official Senegal delegation. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Thierno plans to champion the role of youth in Africa's development because he believes young people can contribute actively to the peace and prosperity of the continent.
