Yvette Ishimwe

2019 Fellow from Rwanda

Yvette Ishimwe has more than five years of experience running a social enterprise involved in clean water supply. Currently, she is chief executive officer at IRIBA Water Group, a social enterprise that creates innovative solutions for providing safe drinking water to communities in need. Yvette holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Southern New Hampshire University. She engages in social entrepreneurship to ensure that everyone, especially those of low income, has easy and sustainable access to safe drinking water in Rwanda and across Africa. Yvette credits the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, which she received in 2019, with equipping her with important leadership and management skills, as well as the connections she needed to succeed in her enterprise.
