Each year, YALIServes calls on leaders like yourself to honor the legacy of Nelson Mandela through acts of volunteerism.  Nelson Mandela worked tirelessly throughout his life to give back to his community, his country, and all of Africa.  Now, more than ever, we need your help as Fellowship Alumni and community members to lead the way for YALIServes.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, YALIServes 2020 will not be encouraging in-person community service events.  Instead, this year we’re inviting you to join the YALIServes Digital Day of Action! In honor of International Nelson Mandela Day on July 18, young leaders across all of Africa will virtually serve their digital communities.

Your digital service can be anything from leading a YALILearns session to virtually mentoring others.  How you serve is up to you!  While we may not be able to serve in-person this year, we can still Serve Africa Together.  If you’re ready to start organizing your service event for the Digital Day of Action, you can visit the YALIServes page today to get started.

Take the next few days to make sure you’re ready to go on July 18.  You can use the YALI Network face2face group to invite participants outside of your own social Networks.  Use the promotional image below to help advertise your event and don’t forget to use the hashtags #YALIServes and #DigitalDayofAction to connect with others who are serving on Mandela Day!
