UMN Supports Africa’s Emerging Leaders
This summer, one of the hosts of one of the Fellowship’s Leadership in Public Management Institutes was the University of Minnesota, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This year, UMN hosted Fellows from 18 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa who are leaders in fields as diverse as pediatrics and graphic design to climate policy and disability rights. During their Institutes, Fellows had the chance to connect with:
- ConnectionsLab, a nonprofit based in St. Paul, which taught Fellows about communications and messaging;
- Public Achievement Center, based at Augsburg University, which taught them about community organizing;
- Circle of Peace Movement, which brings people together to collaboratively solve community problems.
