Alumna Wins Funding to Scale Plastic Pollution Solutions

Congratulations to 2021 Fellowship Alumna Tayba Mohamed Mohamed Hatimy, who won £250,000 to scale her solution, the #StopPlasticPollution campaign, through the Afri-Plastics Challenge!
The Afri-Plastics Challenge, run by innovation prize experts Challenge Works, aims to reduce marine plastics in Sub-Saharan African countries by developing and scaling innovative solutions to plastic mismanagement. It involves a public competition that rewards the best solutions to address marine plastic litter in a way that promotes the empowerment of women and girls.
Tayba is the Founder and CEO of Baus-Taka Enterprises, which organized the #StopPlasticPollution campaign to leverage a mobile app to promote the segregation of plastic waste while raising awareness of responsible waste management practices through competitions with cash incentives.
